If you were wondering, God will find you.
For years I’ve been researching saints and trying to kind of create my own little group of saintly friends to turn to. I’ve struggled so much with mental health, family issues, and loneliness these past few years and trying to find saints who had maybe been through something similar, who could join me in prayer, and who I connected to was a way of coping. And while I have some connections to some saints, those connections didn’t feel super strong. Which makes sense - you have to work to build relationships with anyone, the strongest connections don’t happen overnight.
But all that changed in a class project from last semester. I go to a state university in the US and was in a religion class and ended up with a project relating to Saint Anne. I chose the topic (of St. Anne) from a large list of topics, and it was one of the few options relating to Catholicism (I knew I wanted something Catholic-related if there was that option). As I did that class project (and the subsequent longer-term research project that came from that assignment), I very quickly felt a connection to St. Anne.
I didn’t think much of the connection at first, but I’ve realized over these past few months the ways God has worked to put St. Anne into my life. It wasn’t a random coincidence. The project in that course that led me to St. Anne was only possible because of a new course offering from my university. I just so happened to be taking that course in the right semester, after having to drop out and come back years later due to mental health. My professor said they almost didn’t include St. Anne on the list to choose from, but did for whatever reason and was glad that they did because the work was outstanding. I was able to get a grant (with help from my professor) to study St. Anne in an academic sense (this has only deepened a spiritual connection to her and of course God).
And what I think is most striking, is that for almost a decade, I have struggled with feeling like I don’t really have a grandmother (or grandfather, but that stings less for some reason). My father’s mom died before I was two, and I never met her. My mother’s mother plays favorites with her grandchildren and I was never close to being the favorite; she’s never been very interested in me. But St. Anne, Jesus’ grandmother, has come into my life and has become an incredibly important figure to me. I didn’t even notice it at first. Now I see that Christ worked in his own mysterious way and in his own time to give me his grandmother as a source of comfort and love in my life. Someone who can guide me towards her grandson and fill what has often felt like a void in my life.
God saw my struggles and my desire to grow towards him. He gave me the person I needed so quietly and gently that I didn’t even notice my answered prayers. In a public university, on some random day in September, while I was listening to Spotify, God put St. Anne in my life. You do not need to worry. God will find you.

genuinely liked your content, and really got me into rad feminism.. but degrading religious people, especially Christians, honestly was such a turn off. Some of the most feminist women I know are Christian women, including myself 🙃
You can not be a radical feminist while subscribing to patriarchal religion. You cannot be for the liberation of women while worshipping a man-made god in a religion that is merely a tool to control and punish women.
My blog got big because of my criticisms of Islam. If you can understand what’s wrong with Islam and not see the same problems with Christianity, turning a blind eye to ugly parts of the faith like God commanding Lot to sleep with his daughters, explicit verses allowing the beating of slaves, the punishment of homosexuals… historical movements like the witch burnings, abortion clinics being bombed, the Catholic Church covering up sex abuse… current movements like trad conservatives stripping away abortion rights from women… then you are not ready to be a radical feminist yet.
Everything good and feminist you’ve ever done came from yourself and your own humanity, not Jesus.
It’s insulting yourself to think this way. “Well I’m a good person because I’m a Christian.” If you are a good person, it’s despite Christianity. You can choose to stick around if you like, or not, my views are unchanging. I’ll never coddle or lie to you, and it’s my belief that organized religion quells individual thought and empathy, and encourages obedience and mob mentality.
Sorry if I don’t have a such a rosy, biased view of the faith. Any sparkle was lost to me when gun wielding protesters would surround my mosque as a child and chant “go back to your country!” at us. You only see the good parts because that’s what you choose to see. The ugly side is always in plain sight, but you’ve been intentionally programmed to ignore it.

This isn't a question, but rather a love letter to your art<3.
Thanks to you, I've started enjoying Greek mythology and the Bible again (I mean from a point of artistic, mythological, historical, and theological analysis; my status with any kind of religion is being agnostic XD).
And I already enjoyed Epic the Musical, but I really love the designs you make, how you empathize with the symbolism and lore of the Gods when designing them, and how you make Odysseus so human with his crude expressions that makes me empathize with him (And he's one of the characters I hated the most from Greek mythology lol)
And then there’s your art about the bible, I have to admit that I tend to avoid the biblical religion because of the weight it still has on our daily lives, the damage it has done from the past to this day, and how they deny it with current hypocrisy (I live in Spain, there the official religion is catholic), but your lgbt drawings have really encouraged me to open the bible and see it from an objective and neutral point of view, and just enjoy it as another book and not as something I’m forced to follow.
Also I didn’t know there was so much LGBT content in the bible XD Seriously, thank you so much, if you had a patreon, I would pay you for the amount of happiness and culture you have given me (^///^)
By the way, reading your posts I found out that you recently experienced an internet drama that has become so popular lately. I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry that both you and that poor artist had to go through this, that human hypocrisy has no limits or shame, and that I agree with everything you say. Just because we like a character or an author doesn't mean we agree with their crimes or ideologies.
I hope you have a nice day<3
Hi! I’m sorry it took me a while to respond! I mean it, I’ve read this over and over, and it makes me so happy. I’ve been thinking about how to respond, but sometimes it's hard to get it out into words.
It makes me so happy that my biggest interests make others interested in it too. Heck, when people ask questions, I get all giddy!
Talking about biblical/christian saints, greek myths, history, different cultural views and changes was kind of the whole point of why I started this tumblr blog. I have so many drafts filled with random info about LGBTQ+ saints..... Now… I post mostly thirsty drawings of greek gods with hairy chests... T.T
And I sympathize a lot when it comes to religious trauma. I consider myself lucky in these matters, my mom is Catholic, and she has her views that I don’t agree with and hurtful. Yet she still supports me in her way and watching my bible retelling animatics, everytime I post a new bible animatic, she writes me: "What have you done to Daniel..."
I also have my hurts and anger towards hypocrisies too, and I guess this is my way of countering that?
LGBT content in the Bible is something that really fascinates me. I think it's important to keep in mind that people from about 2,500 years ago had very different views when it came to gender and sex compared to how we see it today. In a way, the Bible does have strict social gender expectations, and if you didn’t fit in, then you weren’t considered part of that gender. But at the same time, it acknowledges that your sex. I think it’s in the Talmud were it discusses the fact that, throughout the Bible, there were about eight genders:
Zachar: male.
Nekevah: female.
Androgynos: having both male and female characteristics.
Tumtum: lacking sexual characteristics.
Aylonit hamah: identified as female at birth but later naturally developed male characteristics.
Aylonit adam: identified as female at birth but later developed male characteristics through human intervention.
Saris hamah: identified as male at birth but later naturally developed female characteristics.
Saris adam: identified as male at birth but later developed female characteristics through human intervention.
Some scholars even believe that Abraham and Sarah were Tumtum. A Tumtum is not considered to be very distinct but rather flexible between male and female sex/gender—"sometimes he is a man, and sometimes he is a woman." The simple fact that God said Abraham had a womb and from it, he would have children. Some say that this is why he is a Tumtum, while some historical linguists argue that ancient Hebrew didn’t have the vocabulary for male genitalia yet. Both arguments are valid, and I like them both!
There’s tons of stuff I could bring up—Joseph with his princess dress, Naomi and Ruth, David and Jonathan, and the discussions around whether Daniel was a Saris Hamah or a Saris Adam. We know he was called a saris, but we’re just not sure which. And then there's Jael, whose story is filled with a lot of phallic symbolism, and even her name is very gender-neutral.
I think I’m going to end here. I could yap about these things forever! But thank you again taking your time writing to me and I hope you also have a nice day! <3

It also delves into her relationship with Mallick, whose existence, I believe, is an obvious literary reference to an ancient Roman play read by only me and three other people currently alive. I translated relevant passages and included them in my work. I got understimulated around page 8 so I did take a break to pierce myself in the same spot that I believe Mallick would have a piercing. What was Jedi's look on relationships (new to Star Wars sorry) How come marriage was forbidden?
Ok, I don’t usually do these kind of posts, but I’ll try. Look to blogs like @/david-talks-sw (generally does more on Lucas’s intentions for the Jedi) and @/gffa (generally does more on what is shown in canon, has a long-running project nailing down every bit of Jedi Order stuff here) for more in-depth stuff, this’ll be pretty quick
From what I understand, Lucas built a lot of the Jedi order from his own views on religion. He identified as a Methodist (his Christian denomination) and as a Buddhist (convert), so both heavily inspired the Prequels.
To my quite limited knowledge of both faiths, the Christianity is more apparent in Anakin’s story and the Buddhism is more apparent in the Jedi’s worldbuilding. Buddhist monks are known for living in temples, practicing non-attachment, and not getting married. Some of them are warriors, they wear robes, they meditate, etc., it’s pretty well-established that they’re the primary inspiration for the Jedi.
So that’s probably why Lucas initially decided that Jedi couldn’t get married.
For the in-universe reason, I’ve got this older post, but it basically boils down to: the Prequels/High Republic/whatever Jedi Order went all around the Republic, risking their lives and being out in the field for months to years, which requires incredible commitment.
Serious romantic relationships like marriage also require full-time, absolute commitment, so you can’t do one without half-assing the other. Considering the life-threatening nature of Jedi missions, if you’re half-assing that, you’ll die, and if you’re half-assing your marriage it’s unfair to your partner and going to fall apart. So they don’t do it.
There you go! This is the pretty standard explanation on the pro-Jedi side of the fandom, I’m not a trailblazer or anything.

Hey, I’m just reaching out to people on Tumblr, it’s not one of those weird sexual blogs trying to get your attention. I’m just curious, you’ve probably heard of Jesus and God, but have you ever reached out to Jesus for problems in your life? Big or small. If you don’t want to talk, that is completely fine, I truly don’t want to force anything on you because that isn’t very kind and it kinda sucks. I hope you’re having an awesome day!!
Also!!
Your art is amazing!! 💕
If this wasn't an Anonymous, I'd have just politely ignored and deleted the message. I don't like to drag people but because in the book of Matthew (5:15-16, ESV) it states:
"Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
This ask is Anon so free game in my opinion.
This is the second time this type of message has been given to me. Now were I to have shared some sort of trepidation or worry of late, like for example my current contract coming to an end Fed 21 (which true), and you went, "Oh my, you are feeling insecure! Let me share with you something that gives me comfort, maybe you will find comfort in it!" Then fine, I'd thank you for the thought, BUT that isn't what prompted this.
You looked at my body of work and went, "Oh my! This person clearly has no relationship with the Lord! I must tell them there is a better way!" You made an assumption as to what my personal relationship with the divine is and unprompted and anonymously tried to "save" me. Being previously an Evangelical, I get it. I was once young and fervent, wanting to champion for the Lord. I learned that like anything in life, consent is king and leading by example and enriching the lives of others is so much better than proselytizing.
For clarity, I am in fact Christian. I maybe a Polyamourous, pansexual, hedonist, but my relationship with Jesus, pretty tight. Been so my whole 37 years of life. To the point that I tell my retired pastor of a father that I am older in the faith than he is (he hates this, it is hilarious). EDIT: Also it doesn't matter that I am Christian, I clarified to show that assumptions can one look foolish. Even if I were of any other faith or without faith, it is arrogant to assume to know a person's relationship with the divine. There is so many different ways to interact with the universe and as long as we are adding goodness to it, that is the important part.
I get that you meant well but rocking up to my Asks being like, "I think you need Jesus! But let me put a pretty bow on this message by saying you make nice art!" Not as flattering as you think it is.
I wish you the best and sorry if this cuts deep but so everyone knows, I don't appreciate this sort of unprompted messaging.

Hi there, I’ve recently discovered ur blog and it has helped me a lot. I have a question… I hope I’m not being insensitive or rude but.. okay I’m a trans dude, but sometimes I’m nonbinary. Sometimes I’m a guy and other times I’m nonbinary- it’s like gender-fluid but without the she/her… I don’t know… is there a name for it? Or am I just weird? I also need some advice.
Everyday makes me feel horrible for being a trans dude. Everyday I hear horrible stories about men and everyone seems to be in agreement of “eeF Men!!” and men being idiots. And I can’t help but agree- but then I feel like crap for being a guy- a trans guy no less. (Not to mention how horrible it is to stereotype men- it’s something I’m working on) My family is Christian and when I was found out… they were far from welcoming. Which doesn’t help with my raging dysphoria. I don’t have anywhere to turn to about this because there is no one like me- everyone makes fun of the LGBTIA+ community and no one respects my pronouns. I try to defend myself but I can’t get mad cause then I feed into the stereotypes. Everyone hates guys and everyone hates trans people. I don’t know what to do, nothing I can do cause of my age. Do you have any advice? Just… anything, tips or stuff.
- Coins
hello! theres no right or wrong way to be nonbinary or genderfluid. genderfluid people can experience any genders there's no rules. you can also use whatever pronouns you want
i'm sorry it's so hard for you right now. the man hating really is out of control its literally so normalized right now it's brutal. people think it's causing a problem somehow. i would say it's okay to embrace yourself as a man. men are not the problem, it's toxic masculinity, the patriarchy, the cages we have built around manhood. being a man is not a problem. experiencing manhood is not a problem. it's okay to be a guy.
it's okay to acknowledge yourself as a guy. join spaces for trans men and talk to others who get you. focus on building up your sense of self. seeing other people living their lives really helps with this. remind yourself that this is literally all petty bullshit and you're not a walking problem. you're a person who deserves to love themselves. take care

do you dislike israelis?
it sounds pushy sorry..you dont have to answer..
I don’t dislike anyone. I’m not going to hate an entire population because of a few.
I’m American and our politicians are crazy but that doesn’t make me a bad person, I’m also a Christian and they haven’t always made the best choices especially in the past, but I’m not guilty of that so why should I judge people by what they cannot help and did not do?
I love and accept everyone. As a Christian we are taught to love and accept everyone regardless of who they are, where they are from, or what they believe. I do my best to live by that.
If my choice not to hate bothers you so much you want to unfollow me then feel free. This blog is for positivity and a game I enjoy.
This will be the only time I discuss politics. Thank you for listening to my TED Talk.
#I hate talking politics because I bet a bunch a people are gonna hate me for it#love and acceptance#don’t generalize people#antiracism

Hey do you know any other mermaid/siren whatever of the water merfolk sort IF's? because there aren't a lot
I also loved as the ocean lures, hope to see more of it in the future
thank you so much! I hope to write more of it in the future 😂
As for mermaid/siren/anything water-like creatures, I’ve got a few. Most of them are just intro posts and ones with demos that are pretty short, so I’ll split it up into two categories along with their tumblr blogs. There are some finished ones as well but you’re going to have to pay for the entire game so I don’t know if you’re going to want to pay in order to read the whole thing. I won’t put it but I can add some if you’d like!
I don’t really follow VNs so you’re just going to get text-based games. Sorry about that 😅
There was another demo for a game called Kalopsia but it seems to have been deleted. And there’s another game where you’re found and then saved by a captain. Both were on itch.io but I can’t find either one.
Demos
Abysm’s Veil [thread] by Jacic (inspiration for ATOL, about the rusalki)
The Sea Maiden [thread] by Jacic (they have some other games but they’re short if you really want to check them out!)
Beyond the Waves by @allthatwrites (inspiration for ATOL, related to The Little Mermaid)
Voiceless: A Siren’s Song [thread] by Fare (MC is not a mermaid but they can help one!)
Disenchanted by @disenchantedif (you can choose to be a siren)
Drown With Me by @barbwritesstuff
Siren Call by @darkpetal16 (it’s based on Undertale and while MC is not a siren Sans definitely is)
Intro Posts
…And I Am Undone by @fakeyellow (short story based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid)
When Silence Speaks by @whensilencespeaks (seems to be on hiatus but the idea is really interesting!)
In Deeper Tides by @indeepertidesif (Disenchanted spin-off)
Through the Waves by @throughthewaves-if (this just came out recently and honestly I wouldn’t have known about it if I didn’t look at Zee’s reblog of it!)
I know there’s more, but I just don’t remember them or have yet to see them. If there is, please let me know!
There are some other IFs that are water related like @riptide-if (which is surfer related) but they’re not about mermaids or sirens.
Also, here’s interact-if’s list of mermaid IFs or water-related stuff if you’d like to take a gander. You can also just look up forums and Reddit for any mermaid recs. I’ve seen a few posts for them and people have given some. But I think I’ll cap it off here.
I’m so sorry to all the people I’ve tagged, but it makes it easier for people to just go to your profile and look at the amazing things that are cooking right now. Also because I’ve been making this list for about an hour and a half nonstop and I’d like to give my hands a rest 😅
(although I will tag @elegantunknownphantom as Zee probably has some IFs too that I didn’t list)

Hello! I have a question about Fyodor. What if his potential s/o, who meets all his ideal types, has a different religion than his? I assume Fyodor is a religious orthodox Christian, and I'm curious about how he might relate to someone who is just as religious but not Christian. I'm really interested in how different beliefs can shape relationships, and I think it would be fascinating to see how Fyodor might navigate that. I hope this question isn't disrespectful or makes you uncomfortable :( —I'm just a fan eager to understand the character better. Have a lovely day, by the way! <3
Hello, my dear, of course you’re not being disrespectful; I cherish your sensibility. Please keep in mind that these are my interpretations, and I could indeed be wrong. Also, I’m very sorry to keep you waiting! ♥️
That’s an interesting concept, and I’d likely classify him as an Orthodox Russian as well. However, this is a topic that requires more time for reflection. I’ve deeply analysed the Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—and have observed recurring patterns that suggest a fascinating possibility: these three religions, at their core, might actually be the same but have diverged in vastly different directions.
One could argue that this is not a groundbreaking theory, considering that Islam and Christianity share about (if I remember correctly) 18% of common ground. However, I’ve noticed other patterns that I won’t be able to delve into here for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, religious topics are very sensitive, and I don’t want to inadvertently offend anyone. Secondly, these ideas start to border on conspiracy theories, and this blog is a literature/BSD blog where I engage with my children in a more light-hearted manner. ♥️
Given these patterns, it suggests the existence of one true religion of God. I can also imagine Fyodor unravelling mysteries and truths that ordinary people are unaware of. Since he has presumably lived for countless years, I believe he might have uncovered the “code” or ultimate truth about God, which would explain his unwavering faith. That said, it’s also possible that he may have taken a misstep somewhere in his analysis—who knows?
What I’m ultimately trying to convey is that Fyodor likely doesn’t fit neatly into the box of any single religious denomination, such as Orthodox Christianity. After all, he only speaks of “God” and never the Trinity, and he also references the Promised Land. He isn’t canonically an Orthodox Christian, but I could see Asagiri simplifying his characterisation and assigning him that label for convenience.
Now, in response to your question, I see two possible outcomes:
1. If we follow the idea I outlined, Fyodor would likely lead his beloved to what he perceives as the “right path” or the true moral and religious calling, meaning you would abandon your current faith to follow his.
2. If we take him as an Orthodox Christian, he would manipulate you into adopting his beliefs, driven by his confidence in the absolute truth of his faith.
Either way, his approach would be unwavering, as he seeks to align you with what he believes to be the ultimate truth.
